Hello, my pretties! ♥

In the beauty world, packaging is king. Unfortunately, a lot of truly amazing non-mainstream brands go undetected in our radar because they packaging is not...well... super flashy or ornate. But I'll let you in a little secret - some of my all-time favorite beauty brands have the simplest packaging ever. This is 1000% true. And, precisely, the case with SKINN Cosmetics by Dimitri James.

SKINN Cosmetics has grown somewhat under the radar, but it has a very strong cult following. I count myself among those who is a true lover of their products. I particularly love their philosophy: Instead of spending all their money on packaging and advertising, the invest in the actual product you put on your skin. That means, you're not only getting makeup that conceals issues, you're also getting treatment for your skin. It's like a mini-spa in every product!

Because I love this brand so very much, I want to share with you some of my favorite products from SKINN Cosmetics. If you're curious as to why I love each & every product so much, just keep reading ;) Enjoy!

$49 / 4.2 oz (125 ml)

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "This is not your average body oil. Collagenesis® Essential Radiance delivers the best of both worlds, giving you supreme moisturization and unparalleled anti-aging benefits. Cover your body in our concentrated blend of natural botanical oils, rich in Omega 3, 6, 7, 9 and 12 Fatty Acids, and notice your skin soften as it takes on a natural, healthy glow. You'll feel our exotic antioxidant berry blend and anti-aging actives rejuvenate and replenish your skin with each use. Indulge in it daily to keep your skin smooth, supple and luminous all year round."

My thoughts: One of my favorite body oils of all time. During Winter months, my skin gets super parched and this product is the only thing that alleviates the uncomfortable feeling dry skin gets. Even though this product is a "body oil", I use it on my face and hands too. It's great for removing makeup without tugging at your skin. It's also great as a hand moisturizer when hand cream just won't do the job. It's great to use under your moisturizer and foundation to nourish the skin (although, I don't do this during the Summer months because I have oily skin). A definite must-have product, if you want to try something from this brand!

$22 / Primer: 0.17 oz (0.5 gr) & Setting Veil: 0.12 oz (3 gr)

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "Introducing the Beauty Industry's first ever Plasma Fusion Eyeshadow Primer and Setting Veil. This new and innovative two-part anti-aging formulation, infused with antioxidant-rich Grape Seed Oil, energizing Ginseng Extract, and Vitamins A, C and E, allows you  to prime your eyelids and then set them for the ultimate long-wear finish and look! First, apply a layer of our ultra-silky, never-creasing eyeshadow primer to smooth lids and camouflage discoloration, create more vibrant eyeshadow, and hold your eye make-up on all day. Next, apply a combination of your favorite eyeshadows, then lightly dip Skinn's Plasma Fusion Eyeshadow Setting & Blending Brush into our smooth-as-satin translucent eyeshadow Setting Veil. Gently dab powder on top of eyeshadow to set or blend your look. Prime, Apply and Set for color that lasts all day!"

My thoughts: I'm going to be honest -- I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I absolutely adore the product itself: The Eyeshadow Primer is super creamy but sets quickly to help your eyeshadows stand out and not muddle together. The Setting Veil is very finely milled and helps blend eyeshadows perfectly. My biggest pet peeve with this product is packaging. It's a 2-in-1 container, where the primer is on top in a small compact. The bottom section of the compact also acts as a snap-on cover for the bottom container that houses the Setting Veil. The problem is the Setting Veil powder is so fine that it escapes the smallest crevice and makes a mess! No bueno.

A solution to this problem would be to have a screw-on top rather than a snap-on one. This way the powder wouldn't spill all over and it would remain a 2-in-1 type of container. Other than the packaging, the product itself is amazing! I definitely recommend it. And also recommend keeping it inside the little plastic pouch it comes in to prevent accidents while they change the packaging ;)

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "Prep skin like never before with Skinn's Orchid Gel Canvas-Ready Treatment Primer! This non-drying formula is enriched with Orchid Flower Extract for maximum hydration, a silky blend of state-of-the-art silicones and special micro-powders to help blur the look of pores and fine lines, and Salicylic Acid to help resurface skin's appearance and to cut down shine. Prime to perfection for a flawlessly smooth base and get your skin Canvas-Ready!"

My thoughts: The best face primer I have ever tried in my entire life! This is not an overstatement. I truly mean it. If you have oily skin or large pores anywhere on your face, you need this. It makes your skin silky, very even, super matte, and it keeps skin oils at bay for a long time while wearing makeup. I don't have much else to say other than I cannot recommend this face primer enough. It's seriously the best in the business. And, trust me, I have tried a lot of them. BUY IT! ♥

$32 each / 0.5 oz (15 gr)

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "Do you want maximum coverage without that heavy make-up feel? Introducing Skinn's first-ever Plasma Fusion Full Coverage Foundation stick! Our water-resistant formulation is creamy and lightweight, yet provides unprecedented coverage. The core is fully loaded with nutrients that skin craves, such as Vitamin C for brightening, Hyaluronic Acid for maximum hydration, a Peptide blend for anti-aging effects, as well as Grape Seed, Argan and Rosehip Oils for antioxidant and skin conditioning benefits. This foundation will make skin appear flawless now and for years to come! Can be worn all over the face or used to touch up where needed."

My thoughts: Typically speaking, I tend to stay away from cream/full coverage/stick foundations because they tend to look cakey on the skin and, normally, are harder to work with because of their thicker consistency. Not these! These stick foundations come in 5 shades: Fair, Light, Medium, Tawny & Deep. Even though it only comes in 5 shades, you can mix and match to create your perfect shade.  I have all of them in my professional kit and are the only foundation I use on clients. I just remove a bit with a spatula, mix it on the back of my hand, apply it with a flat foundation brush on the skin and blend it with a beauty blender.

Clients love this foundation because it's full coverage, but also very light to wear and doesn't look like you applied cake frosting on. Plus, the core has all sorts of really awesome goodies in it to give you a bit of treatment while wearing it. This is a product I truly recommend for those of you who are looking for full coverage that looks really natural on the skin.

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "An exquisitely tailored selection of eyeshadows and blush designed to create a stunning and striking look. With pretty peaches and vibrant golden rose shades, the Flushed Shade & Blush Collection imparts a glowing and seductive finish to your eyes and cheeks. With a convenient two-in-one compact and high-pigment color, create an indulgent and fresh look for daytime or glam it up by night. Rich in beneficial anti-aging actives and talc-free, this Shade & Blush Collection will leave you looking youthfully Flushed."

My thoughts: This is an incredible all-over-the-face mini palette. It's perfect for travel because it has everything you need for eyes and cheeks. I like the feminine colors and appreciate the convenience of the packaging. Lately, this is the only palette I have been using because it makes me look fresh and like I spent a lot of time doing my makeup. But shhh!... Don't tell anyone I've only been spending 15 minutes on my face thanks to this palette ;) It makes things super simple, to-the-point and like you spent hours in front of the mirror getting yourself together. I also really like that it's perfect for travel and easy to take with you everywhere. The case is sturdy and has a great mirror to use for touch-ups throughout the day.

$20 each / 0.12 oz (3.5 gr)

SKINN Cosmetics claims, "Plasma Fusion Full Pigment Lipsticks are the best of four worlds in one handy tube. The outer layer is filled with rich, full-pigmented pure color lipstick that goes on smooth and even, with the staying power of a stain. While the inner core is infused with Argan Oil and Rosehip Oil to sooth and nourish lips, adding a subtle glossy finish to those rich colored lips. Apply to lips until desired look is achieved."

My thoughts: If you want to see a full review of these lipsticks, click here. I go in-depth of everything you need to know about them. At the time of that blog post, there were only two colors; however, they have expanded the line to four: Nudist (nude), Carnation (hot pink), Chestnut (warm medium brown) & Rusted Red (brick red with rust). If you just want the gist of it -- they are creamy, pigmented, comfortable to wear and the colors are very pretty.
