415 Vista Rd. → A new series!

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

415 Vista Rd. → A new series! | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

A lot of you have sent sweet messages congratulating us on the purchase of our new home and I cannot thank you enough for all the love and kindness you constantly show us! I have been dying to share with you more about our new house. I want to do it very slowly and take my time, so Andrés (a.k.a. The Mr.) & I came up with the idea of a home decor series for the blog: 415 Vista Rd.

415 Vista Rd. → A new series! | iheartoffbeat

By the way, the name of this new series is not our real address. I say this because friends & family were worried about us sharing too much. We value our personal privacy + are always concerned with safety for our boys. So, we came up with this name instead. This way, whenever you see the series name on the title, you'll know it's a house-related blog post.

But... I am holding back. A LOT. Buying a house is a very personal decision and many variables come into play when making a purchase of this magnitude. So, in all honesty, I'm a little nervous about sharing our new home with you. This is our sanctuary & is sacred to us. I promise, however, I will share with you little by little and room by room how we transform this house into our home. All I ask of all of you is that you remain respectful of our space and family.

415 Vista Rd. → A new series! | iheartoffbeat

I know a lot of you have been very curious about how the house looks, what plans we have and what we're doing to it. You will see everything as it changes. I don't want to bombard you with a bunch of photos of the house. Instead, I want to take you on a journey with us about our new life as homeowners, new lessons we are learning, the struggles we face as well as all the fun things we get to do to the house with decor & style. I truly hope it will be just as exciting for you to read as it is for me to write about it. Believe me -- there is plenty to share!

415 Vista Rd. → A new series! | iheartoffbeat

But before we begin with all the pictures of the house and the home decor blog posts, I want you to know this: We are not sharing our home with you to boast or brag. We made a tremendous amount of sacrifices in order to achieve a goal we set up for ourselves as people and as parents. There was a plethora of boring weekends, more no-buy months than I care to admit, and stretching of money in every single little thing we could think of. We got really creative when it came time to buckle up and get our savings in shape for home-buying. Both The Mr. & I come from humble beginnings. Our parents did the best they could with what they had at the time. So, now it's our turn to do the same for our boys in hopes that they can do better than us when they grow up.

This is also why we're sharing with you! We want to show you that no matter where you come from, as long as you're willing to work for it and not give up, you can achieve whatever you set your mind to. We hope these posts are not only entertaining but also motivational and inspiring for you to keep working towards making your dreams a reality!

415 Vista Rd. → A new series! | iheartoffbeat

This is a fresh unexplored journey for our little family and we're happy to take you along. So, stay tuned for all the new things coming to the blog in the very near future. And, once again, thank you for all the incredible amount of love you send our way. It makes us so happy you're happy for us!

See you around here very soon,

We Bought A House! 🏡

We Bought A House! 🏡 | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

If you follow me on Instagram, I'm sure you are aware of the news... We are now the proud owners of a new home. Well, it's not new-new but it's new to us. Here's a picture of what it looks like right now:

We Bought A House! 🏡 | iheartoffbeat

We just got the keys on Monday & have moved in a few boxes already, but the full move-in is happening tomorrow. Fortunately, we purposefully didn't move all our stuff in our current apartment since we knew we would be moving out fairly soon, so there isn't a lot to move out of this place (thank goodness!). Not that we have that much to begin with... Hooray! for not having to move tons of crap.

All this week, I have been in cleaning mode. And... have only managed to fully finish the kitchen. I'm cleaning walls, windows, cabinets, etc. I intend to clean every single nook & cranny. We want to introduce ourselves to the house slowly and we want this to be our home for many many years, so we're taking our time with every single room. There is sooo much to do!

I have been bursting at the seams to share with you guys! I've always loved interior design but have never actually did it before because we were just renting and saw no point. So I'm definitely up for it & excited about the challenge. And to celebrate all this goodness, I'm creating a new section here on the blog where I will share with you how we fix & update our new home. Weird. I never thought I'd ever get to say those words.

Anyway... Stay tuned for that!

So, now you know why I have been away and all secretive. There has been so stinkin' much going on lately that I had to distance myself from the internet. I needed that time to focus on life & family to move forward as best as possible. Now that things are slowly settling into their new cycle, I can again come back to blogging and sharing with all of you. I will still share beauty-related posts as well as lifestyle, inspiration, some fashion, etc. but I'll also be adding home decor into the mix.

Are you guys excited?! I hope you are 'cause I am!

Thank you all for being so patient and understanding. I have the best freakin' readers & followers anyone could ever ask for! I am incredibly grateful for you ♥ Will be back very soon with more - I actually have been working on some other blog posts for you in the meantime... Let me just unpack some boxes and get this ball rollin' before we get into this new chapter.

Talk to y'all soon!

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Back in February, I wrote up an article about Milani's Everyday Eyes Eyeshadow Collection which, at the time, was brand new in the market. I was fortunate enough to receive a generous care package from the company to review, which included the Plum Basics and Smoky Essentials Collections. Since I liked those palettes, I thought it would be a good idea to check out these other 2 mini-collections from Milani and share with you my experience with them. In this post, I am reviewing the Earthy Elements and Must Have Neutral Collections.

If you're interested, just keep reading...

Mother's Day Makeup feat. SKINN Cosmetics by Dimitri James {MOTD} | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

From the last blog post where I talked about SKINN Cosmetics by Dimitri James, I decided to use all of the products listed and create a makeup look for Mother's Day. By the way, happy belated Mother's Day to all of you beautiful mamas out there!

My favorite part about this look is that it's very feminine and easy to recreate. I'm all about fresh but glam makeup looks where you feel like a more polished version of yourself! Because, let's be honest --  as moms we don't always look like we have our ish together (haha!). If you're interested in recreating this makeup look, keep reading to see how I achieved it.

Enjoy!

SKINN Cosmetics by Dimitri James {Review}

DISCLAIMER: I received these products, courtesy of Skinn Cosmetics,
for review & use with this blog post. All opinions are my own.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

In the beauty world, packaging is king. Unfortunately, a lot of truly amazing non-mainstream brands go undetected in our radar because they packaging is not...well... super flashy or ornate. But I'll let you in a little secret - some of my all-time favorite beauty brands have the simplest packaging ever. This is 1000% true. And, precisely, the case with SKINN Cosmetics by Dimitri James.

SKINN Cosmetics has grown somewhat under the radar, but it has a very strong cult following. I count myself among those who is a true lover of their products. I particularly love their philosophy: Instead of spending all their money on packaging and advertising, the invest in the actual product you put on your skin. That means, you're not only getting makeup that conceals issues, you're also getting treatment for your skin. It's like a mini-spa in every product!

Because I love this brand so very much, I want to share with you some of my favorite products from SKINN Cosmetics. If you're curious as to why I love each & every product so much, just keep reading ;) Enjoy!

Milani Cosmetics Amore Matte Lip Crèmes (Mini-Reviews & Swatches)

DISCLAIMER: I received this care package, courtesy of Milani Cosmetics,
for use & review in conjunction with this blog post. All opinions are my own.

Milani Cosmetics Amore Matte Lip Crèmes | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

My favorite drugstore brand, Milani Cosmetics has released the Amore Matte Lip Crèmes!
Originally, they had released a limited edition collection back in Fall 2015; however, after seeing how popular they were & how fast they flew off the shelves, Milani decided to create a permanent collection of lip crèmes. Well... I was fortunate enough to receive 4 out of the 18 shades! And because some of you are curious, I swatched them all and did mini-reviews to give you some info. So, if you're interested in these beautiful & fun lippies, keep reading! ;)

Milani Cosmetics Amore Matte Lip Crèmes | iheartoffbeat

The Amore Matte Lip Crèmes have officially been released on the Milani website, but are set to be available in-stores at the end of January 2016. These lip crèmes have a revolutionary, highly-saturated liquid-to-matte formula that dries to a soft, velvet/matte finish that help your lips look fuller and plump. It comes with a double-sided, flexible, plush applicator that allow the color to apply boldly and opaque. Also, these are super long-wearing and transfer-resistant. I want to point out that these new lip crèmes have been reformulated from the original limited edition ones.

Amore Matte Lip Crèmes retail for $8.99 each wherever Milani Cosmetics are sold. They will be available in 18 shades: Adorable, Precious, Loved, Craze, Devotion, Gorgeous, Sweetheart, Fancy, Obsession, Covet, Sugar, Flame, Amore, Babe, Cherish, Allure, Fling and Fascination. As of the time of this post, there are only 10 shades available on the website (the ones in bold) and no news as to when the rest of them will be released or what colors they are.

Now, let's move on to the swatches...

UD x Gwen Stefani Lipstick Samples (Mini-Reviews & Swatches)

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

When I saw there was a 4-lipstick sample pack of the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Lipstick Collection in my #UDxGwen Eyeshadow Palette purchase, I just about fell off my chair! I had purposely avoided reading any reviews of the eyeshadow palette because I didn't think I was gonna get it (read that full story here). When I did and saw these puppies inside the box, I was flippin' excited! Now, it's time to share with you some of the gorgeous lipsticks from this #UDxGwen line that was just released this week. Enjoy!

The #UDxGwen Lipsticks retail for $18 each. They come in 4 different finishes: Sheer, Cream, Mega Matte and Satin. The mega matte finish is brand new to Urban Decay -- a super-intense matte that is very pigmented and lays down color with only one coat.

There are 8 lipsticks in total; however, I will only swatch the ones I received in the sample pack. I've done mini reviews to go alongside each of the sample lipsticks to let you know my thoughts on the colors, finish and formula. Let's dive right into it...

UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches}

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

It's a new year & I'm bringing you a new palette review!

As 2015 was tapering off, Urban Decay released its 1st ever celebrity-collaboration palette with no other than the always fabulous Gwen Stefani. I didn't get it right away because I put myself on a serious 'no-buy' at the end of the year. I'm gonna be completely honest: With the move + Christmas, we were broke. Yet I was slightly sad this beauty wasn't in my collection. Well, leave it to my brother to spoil me over the holidays with a Sephora $50 gift card (thank you, brother!) so I could get this cutie. First thing I did right after getting the gift card? Swatch that sucker in-store & hug the first one I could get my hands on! So if you're still interested in getting the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette but aren't sure whether you should buy it or not, here I have this review & swatches to help you make that decision. Ready? Let's do this!

UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat

The #UDxGwen Eyeshadow Palette is limited edition and retails at Sephora or on the Urban Decay website for $58. Gwen Stefani was involved in the entire development of the palette and designed every single detail -- from the colors to the packaging to the eyeshadows that were to be included in it.

UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat

The palette also comes with a small sample of 4 new lipsticks that just released this week. I will be doing swatches and a mini review of these samples for you to check out. Stay tuned!

UD x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette {Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat

The design is very much inspired by Gwen's love for black & white graphic prints and antique gold accents. I love that the graphics are so bold and unique, especially because there is nothing out in the market quite like this. It's very eye-catching and truly represents Gwen's aesthetic.
