Lush Cosmetics Haul! (Edited with single mini reviews)

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

Lush Cosmetics Haul

Hello, my pretties! ♥

If you have never tried natural or vegan products, I seriously recommend them. There is just something so special about them. They actually work and are good for your skin. A definite win-win. And who doesn't like to win all the time? ☺ There have been a couple instances in which I have tried Lush Cosmetics and I have been completely blown away both times. This is why I'm sharing this haul with you...

Lush is an indie company that creates cosmetic products that are 100% vegetarian. 80% of them are made with vegan ingredients. They are also in the constant fight (and have been for the past 30 years) against animal testing and only purchase ingredients from companies that don't commission tests on our furry friends. Also, a lot of their products are package-free to help our environment from the millions of waste that end up in landfills each year. And if the product is packaged, they only use recycled, reusable or compostable materials. Another few reasons why Lush is such a wonderful company.

For Christmas, the Mr. surprised me with a little Lush box called "Ray of Sunshine". I was very much excited when I opened it and saw the products below inside of it. I keep waiting to use up all my current products to give these a try and give you a full review...

DECEMBER 15, 2015 EDIT:

I have come back here to share with you my thoughts on all the products from this haul.
Keep scrolling down for a specific review of each one of these products.
Hope these mini reviews are helpful to you & give you a much better idea of how well they work.
Xo, E. ♥

Ray of Sunshine
Brighten your day with a little ray of sunshine, in bright and beautiful handmade packaging.

The Olive Branch (v)
Shower Gel
Main Ingredients: Organic olive oil, sea salt, fresh mandarin juice and infusion of vine leaves.

Review: This was my absolute most favorite product out of the entire box! It smells amazing & actually helps your skin get rejuvenated & soft with every use. It has a citrus scent that wakes you right up and energizes your senses. This little bottle lasted me about 1½ months. I think I almost cried when I used up the last drop of it. This is in my list of "buy again" in the near future for sure!

Sugar Scrub (v)
Shower Scrub
Main Ingredients: Fair-trade sugar, fennel, ginger, and lavender.

Review: I adored how soft yet greatly exfoliating this product is! It was easy to use and one little ball lasted me for about a month or so. I would just take small pieces and use them on my face, neck and décolletage. In some instances, I would use them on other parts of my body that needed some exfoliating -- elbows, knees, knuckles, armpits (yes, I exfoliate those too). This was my 2nd favorite.

Karma (v)
Soap
Main Ingredients: Patchouli, lemongrass, orange & pine oils.

Review: I am not a huge fan of patchouli, but this wasn't bad. I wish the scent had more citrus in it, but that's just because I am more partial to those types of scents. You may like this one just fine. Aside from the scent, the actual cleaning properties were awesome! It cleans without stripping your skin. The Mr. is always looking for soaps that work great on his hands and face without being too abrasive and he fell in love with it. If your significant others work with his hands or with chemicals on a regular basis, he said to tell you "Yeah, get it. It works."

Each Peach (And Two's A Pair) (v)
Massage Bar
Main Ingredients: Avocado, mango & shea butters.

Review: This is the only product that is still sitting in my pile of "to use". I'll edit it as soon as I try it.

This blog post is just a quick share with you guys about this brand and the products that were inside the little box. I'll make sure to do a full-on review once I have tried them all and have an educated decision on them.

Have you ever tried Lush before? Which products have you tried and what did you think of them? Do tell!

I hope every single one of you is doing well. Over here in Cali, we're having crazy weather again with perfectly sunny days for a week and insanely rainy/cloudy days the next. Don't look at me funny East Coasters, I know you're going through a tough winter at the moment...but even though you hate me momentarily, I still send you a lot of love & best wishes. I really hope this crazy Winter is over before we know it, mainly for those of you who are buried in 2 feet of snow. Eek!

Until next time...

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow {Review}

*** Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.

Milani Bella Eyes Review

Hello, my pretties! ♥

I think it's time we get back to beauty...

Milani Cosmetics came out with the Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow Collection this last fall and I've been using them on & off since I got them back at the beginning of September. A lot of you are curious about them and, even though they are not exactly new on the market, I would like to share my thoughts on these single eyeshadows. Enjoy!

Milani Cosmetics claims, "A gel powder. Rich, vibrant color that glides on in a single stroke, delivering a stunning multi-dimensional effect. It can be used wet or dry, resists creasing, and comes in satin-matte, shimmer, and iridescent metallic finishes. You have to try this gel powder. It's that different."

No, I won't be "going for the girl"...

Ok. Before I begin, a WARNING! I will be delving into some pretty TMI territory with this post. And you may not like me much after it. Actually, you may not like me at all. Wanna unfollow/unfriend me after this? By all means, go ahead. No hard feelings around here. These are merely my thoughts, my feelings, and my ideas... It doesn't mean you have to agree. But we will agree to disagree. Fair enough? Good. Here goes...

Everytime someone asks me if I will be going for baby #3 or "going for the girl", I make a face similar to this:

The other day, I went to our auto insurance office. The guy behind the desk helping us out was an absolute dick. Seriously. There is just no way of saying it nicely... He tried to 'boy-shame' me. He started telling me he had 2 kids - a 5 year-old boy & a newborn baby girl. Then, he gave my boys a dirty look & asked me what just about everyone asks, "When are you going for the girl?" I quickly replied, "Never". He gave me the dirtiest look and, unrequested, started telling me why I should have a girl. Girls are so easy blah blah blah... I just said "I just wanted 2 kids & I'm happy with my boys" as I gave him a dirty look back. Thanks for your help, asshole, and all the comments I could care less about that I know I didn't ask for.

And seriously? What's so great about having girls? I mean, I get it. Girls want other girls to relate to, dress in pink, put bows on, etc. But that's just not me. Sure, I love makeup & girly things. But, I'm not a girly-girl. Never have, never been, never will be. So, I don't have that need to have a girl. I'm happy playing with trucks, trains & cars. I'm happy making monster sounds, roaring like a dinosaur, snarling, wrestling, and watching "Cars" for the millionth time (BTW, I plan on suing Disney & Pixar for the torture). I just don't see a girl in my future. And others shouldn't either. What works for you doesn't work for me. Simple.

Now, I'm not trying to 'girl-shame' anyone either. The majority of our friends have girls and I love them all dearly. I really do. It's just not what was in the cards for us and, believe me, it feels GREAT! You don't have to feel sorry for us. We are happy with 2 crazy, rambunctious, and (at times) annoying boys who drive us crazy 75% of the time. All I ask is that next time you see another mom with nothing but boys or girls, don't ask when she's planning on having a baby of the other gender.

So, to summarize about me having a girl:

1) Not interested...
2) Don't want to...
3) I can't... (My tubes are tied, burnt & thrown to the dogs. Yes. That means forever.)

I told you I would keep things honest around here. Is this too honest for you?

Home Sweet Home! ♥ {Part III} Dining Area & Kitchen

*** Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

I meant to publish Part 3 of our Home Sweet Home series last week. Unfortunately, life had other plans for me. We got the flu. Ugh. To say that it was horrible is the understatement of 2015. This flu season is no joke! We were bed & sofa-ridden for an entire week. Yup. Seven days of pure misery. Not only did I get it, S&L got it too. My poor babies... Fortunately, we're all feeling much better and are back to our normal selves (our kind of 'normal' anyway). So many of you have been really enjoying this series and I am so happy that you are! ☺

This time around, I'm showing you the heart of our home: the dining area & kitchen. Is it just me or life really revolves around these 2 rooms? In here, we not only have meals but have deep conversations, make future plans, start big & small projects, etc.

So, let's head over to where big things happen in our place...

Home Sweet Home! ♥ {Part II} Living Area

*** Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

As I explained previously in the first installment of this series, we still have lots of white surrounding us and plenty of walls to cover up. Also, the Christmas decor has officially started to come down - all that's left is the tree, simply because I am too lazy to take it all down. Just keepin' it real...but let's forget about that for a moment and let the actual tour of our place begin! ☺

Here's our living area as you see it if you're standing right in front of the pantry. I love how open it is and how much light we get from the transom windows. It makes all the difference in the world when you have such a wonderful architectural piece in your home. Now that we have them, I don't think I could ever live in a home that doesn't have this feature... Now, let's try to convince the Mr. of that!

The images of my sons were actually taken when the boys were newborn and are a couple of our very favorite pictures of them. Lucas (youngest) is on the far left when he was just 1 month-old and barely entering cutesville (he took a little while because he was a preemie). Simon on the right was only a day old in the picture.

Home Sweet Home! ♥ {Part I} Entryway & Balcony

*** Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Welcome to our lovely brand new apartment (hey, it's brand new to us & that's what counts). We have been here for the past 2 months already (wow! time flies...) and our Christmas decorations are still up for another week. We don't take things down until January 7th around here because we celebrate El Día de Reyes, so the holiday stuff sticks around here a little while. If you don't know what that is, Google it... Even so, I really wanted to post this because I've been having a lot of requests to see the new place ☺ I hope you'll find our home just as cute and lovable as we do.

Quick disclaimer, however. The apartment is not even close to being completed + it's a rental (we are not allowed to do a bunch of stuff), but I truly hope it will give you some inspiration for your own space. I'm not one to have stuff everywhere just for the sake of having it, so you won't find that here. But I do like to keep things neat and quirky without falling into the super girly because 1) I'm not that girly and 2) because I share this place with 3 boys → they keep my girlieness in check when I get out of hand. It happens sometimes... ahem. So if that's your style (or even if it isn't), feel free to come in ☺

I'll be doing this as part of a series. Our place isn't big by any means, but there are so many little things that I want to share with you that I opted for this route instead of a massive blog post or video. Life is in the details. Plus, who am I kidding? I want to tease you a little *wink*

But enough babbling...Let's get to the 1st installment of this series started. Welcome to our home! ♥
