Carli Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics {In-Depth Review & Swatches} | iheartoffbeat

Hello, my pretties! ♥

First of all, let me start by saying that I did not intend to review or swatch the Carli Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics for you guys; however, after using it a few of times, I was so happy with it that I seriously felt the need to share this beautiful palette with you all. Why you ask? Because it's ridiculously GOOD!

As you look at the images, please keep in mind that I have already used this palette on more than a few occasions, therefore, it's a bit dirty and the stamping on the highlighters is slightly blurred out from my constant use lately. Please, don't crucify me for it ;)

Fall 2015 Beauty & Fashion with Macy*s | iheartoffbeat | #llblog | #macystrendboxfw15

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Fall is my favorite season of the year. I'm originally from Palm Springs, CA where it's extra scorching hot for a good portion of the year. When the weather starts cooling down, we welcome it with open arms & hearts. It's the perfect excuse to layer on outfits, plan out your accessories and have fun with fashion. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am for this Fall 2015 campaign with Macy*s and Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Collective!

Honestly, when thinking of department stores that are always at the forefront of fashion and beauty, I definitely think of Macy*s. With its vast selection of brands, products and styles, one can always find any type of clothing, accessories or cosmetics that are current and on trend for our closets. It's always fun to be able to walk into a store having an idea in your head of what you want and actually be able to find it. The magic of Macy*s is always there to help. This time is no exception.

This year, there are 3 main trends in fashion & beauty for Fall 2015: Boho Chic, 70s Revival and Athleisure. I was sent products from the Boho Chic category and, right away, I got to play to see how I would style them. Keep reading below to give you three great ideas on how I paired up the items I was sent by Macy*s. For specific product information, just make sure to check the end of the page. Enjoy!

Taraji P. Henson's-Inspired Makeup Look with Milani Cosmetics {MOTD}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

The star of FOX's hit TV series Empire, Taraji P. Henson, recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon looking absolutely stunning! (You can check out what she looked like here). Her makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff, shared all the products she used for Taraji's makeup look and they were all Milani Cosmetics!

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that Milani Cosmetics is my all-time favorite drugstore brand. Her look was edgy but classy and the makeup was fresh while looking clean and allowing her natural features to stand out rather than looking super made up. Since I loved her look so much, I couldn't resist and tried to recreate her makeup look as best as I could with the products I had.

ASP Soak-Off Gel Polish Complete Starter Kit {Review}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

I know I've said it before, but here goes again... I hate doing my nails. Correction. I used to hate doing my nails (you can see why here and here). But the Nail Gods have smiled upon me and while attending Tips & Sips 2015 this past July, I was fortunate enough to learn about an awesome brand of gel nail polish: ASP Nails.

Now, let me start by saying, I have never tried gel nail polish before and knew little about it. So, I ventured into it to see how things would turn out and well... this Soak Off Gel Polish Complete Starter Kit by ASP Nails has changed my life! It may sound a bit excessive to you but, believe me, I'm not exaggerating. Let me tell you why I love it so much, just in case you're thinking of getting your hands on this kit.

Skinn Cosmetics Plasma Fusion Full Pigment Lipsticks {Review}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

While in Las Vegas for Cosmoprof North America 2015, there were several brands that really caught my attention - Skinn Cosmetics is one of them.

The whole concept behind Skinn Cosmetics is that instead of investing money into expensive packaging, advertising or celebrity endorsements, they take that money and invest it into the product inside of the jar. Pretty cool, huh? I will be talking about other Skinn products in the near future again because there is more to cover. This time, I will be telling you all about Skinn Cosmetics Plasma Fusion Full Pigment Lipsticks.

Star Wars + Covergirl Collaboration! ♥ {First Look | Press Release}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Back in June 2015, Nerdist wrote an article about the new collaboration happening between Star Wars & Covergirl. Needless to say, my mind was lost. I didn't originally post anything because I was waiting for either one of these major companies to disclose something officially. Well, here it is! Covergirl has officially announced as of this morning they are creating a Limited Edition makeup collection for those of us who are absolutely in love with the Star Wars franchise.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is set to be released on December 18, 2015. I don't know about you, but that is one freakin' awesome early Christmas gift (if you ask me!). This new collaboration collection will be released September 4, 2015. So, if you're interested, make sure to keep your eyes peeled because I'm 1000% sure it's gonna fly off the shelves as soon as it's out in the market.

ColourPop Cosmetics {1st Impression, Review & Swatches}

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

First of all, sorry for this super delayed review. It has basically been sitting in my drafts for several months and I kept postponing its release for one reason or another. Oopsies! *bad Liz, bad Liz...*

After much thought and hearing a bunch of different bloggers & YTers rave about this brand, I ended up buying a small batch of products to check them out and see what all the hype was about. Sometimes, I take outrageous online claims with a grain of salt because products can be easily over-hyped by people who receive samples or get paid by companies for sponsorships → Just keeping it real here... And this time, it was no different. I kept waiting for the bad reviews, but they never came. So curiosity got the best of me (don't judge me, I'm a girl who likes makeup) and, finally, I bit the bullet and placed my 1st order of ColourPop Cosmetics to try out. Today, I'm sharing with you my 1st impression, full review & swatches. Enjoy!

Even though there is still a lot more to talk about in regards to CPNA 2015, let's take a break to talk about nails. Well, more specifically, I want to talk about indie nail polish brands.

Awesome Indie Nail Brands & Incredible Sales! [Summer ☼ 2015]

While in Las Vegas, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to some pretty cool cocktail parties (more about that on another blog post soon!) where indie nail brands were in attendance & I got to learn more about the subject. Also, I would like to point out that I had to split the entire CPNA experience into a 3-part editorial because there was just too much material to fit into only one blog post.

My Experience at COSMOPROF North America 2015!

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Last weekend, I was fortunate to have been invited to attend Cosmoprof North America 2015 in Las Vegas, NV as a member of the press. Originally, I was very nervous because this is a business-to-business trade show where all sorts of new trends and innovative products are released and, because of that, a more professional environment and behavior is expected on the floor. It's definitely more formal than other trade shows I've attended before, but very exciting nonetheless. If you'd like a glimpse into what Cosmoprof North America is like, I invite you to grab a snack (you're in for a long one...) and to scroll down & read what the entire experience was about.

Enjoy!

COSMOPROF North America, Las Vegas 2015

DISCLAIMER: This is not a sponsored post.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

This Saturday, I'll be heading out to attend Cosmoprof North America 2015 in Las Vegas, NV! This is a trade show for beauty professional ONLY and for business-to-business opportunities to all sectors of the professional beauty industry. As a beauty blogger and makeup artist, I am fortunate to have been invited to attend as a member of the press.

To be completely honest, this is my very first time attending, so I don't have a clue as to what to expect. Regardless, I am extremely excited to be there and take a small break from family life to fully indulge in what is considered the Most Innovative Trade Show in the United States. There will be 1019 exhibitors from over 40 countries! That in itself can make any girl's head spin...I know it does mine ☺

This trade show is organized into 3 major areas:

COSMETICS & PERSONAL CARE - "Showcasing the best in beauty - cosmetics, skincare, toiletries, fragrances, organic beauty products, and accessories - specialized in retail channel distribution in mind...The retail channels of the cosmetics industry including all skin, hair, nail, and tools for retail. This hall is for companies that have products more heavily geared towards consumers rather than professionals."

PACKAGING, CONTRACT MFG & PRIVATE LABEL - "An entire pavilion devoted to the suppliers serving the beauty industry...Supply chain from raw materials to machinery, formulation to packaging, including contract manufacturing, private label, and business tools and POS systems."

PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY - "An entire pavilion devoted to the salon world...Including professional hair care, hair color, styling products, accessories, implements, tools, equipment, furniture, and attire."

Since this is a more formal event than other trade shows I've gone to, I'm not sure how many pictures I'll be allowed to take inside the show. The exhibitors keep a tight lid on new releases and images taken by third parties usually have an embargo date. I'll be sharing as much as I am allowed via social media.

and
Make sure to follow me if you don't already do!

Aside from attending the trade show, I'll also be attending several different cocktail parties after the show. You can for sure expect me to share those images with you! I'm definitely in for a very busy time in Las Vegas.

I'll have lots of news for you, so keep your eyes peeled! For now, I send you all tons of love & light.

Take care & until next time...

Borghese Beauty {Press Sample & Review}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

I'm really excited to share this review with you guys! A few weeks back, I received a very nice care package from Borghese Beauty. I have seen this brand (mostly at Costco); however, most of everything displayed at my local one is either skincare or makeup brushes. I was very happy to try Borghese Beauty out because I didn't even know their line extended to makeup too. But, ever since I received this package, I've been playing non-stop with it. Since I know you guys are curious too, let's jump right into the mini reviews...

I understand this particular blog post is long overdue. I attended Generation Beauty by ipsy at the end of May; however, I've been sick as a dog for the past week and unable to think properly about grammar for this particular post (or any other posts or videos, to be honest...). Plus, I came down with a nasty case of Summer flu that, once again, turned into walking pneumonia. Ugh! But, even though this particular editorial is a little behind the times, I still want to share #GenBeauty with you because it was so much fun!

I am not making this editorial too wordy because, let's be honest, my brain capacity at the moment just isn't there...Regardless, I hope you like looking at the pretty pics as much as I loved taking every single one of them ☺ Enjoy!

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit {Individual Product Reviews} [Part II]

DISCLAIMER: I received this kit, courtesy of Acure Organics & Glamorganic Goddess,
for use & review in conjunction with this blog post. All opinions are my own.

Hello, my pretties! ♥

In my last blog post, I talked to you guys about the Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit and what a great cause it supports. After trying each individual product out for about a week to get a better idea of what was included in the box, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on them one by one. Enjoy!

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit {Individual Product Reviews}

Facial Cleansing Gel (4 oz.) $9.99 → "This gentle cleanser works on two levels - it washes away dirty and oil as well as removes makeup to leave your skin radiant and refreshed. An antioxidant dense cleansing complex that maintains your skin's natural acid mantle, activates new cell growth and helps you look younger and better. Fair Trade Organic Olive Oil and Organic Chlorella Growth Factor provide the ultimate cell boosting blend. Wash away those worries (and worry lines)!

Let me start by saying this smells delicious! This cleansing gel lathers up nicely -- removes all makeup excess without making skin feel dry or tight. It makes my skin feel super refreshed and looks radiant afterwards. Right now I'm using the small sample size included in the box, but I plan on purchasing the full size, so I'm able to use it in the morning too. Definitely recommend it!

Brightening Facial Scrub (4 oz.) $9.99 → "'Seas' the day with natural exfoliation from the ocean! Organic Sea Kelp gently exfoliates your skin while French Green Clay and Organic Lemon Peel remove impurities from your pores. Organic Chlorella Growth Factor and Argan Stem Cells help stimulate new cell growth while providing a deep cleansing, brightening experience. 'Sea' the difference today!"

I like scrubs that I can actually feel on my face & this is actually a great one! The scrubbies are very tiny but still noticeable. Even though you feel the scrubbies on your face, they are not abrasive or make your skin hurt like others I've tried. Your skin feels nicely exfoliated and soft after using this product. I had a rather large pimple on my chin when I started using these products and after only 2 days, it cleared up! I noticed my skin looks super brightened after using this product at night and before bed.

Facial Toner (2 fl. oz.) $12.99 → "Restore balance and tone. This alcohol-free certified organic toner utilizes organic witch hazel to purify, organic vegetable glycerin to moisturize, and organic rose and chamomile to soothe, calm and restore the skin's natural acid mantle - the skin's own protective layer. Get toned!"

I love how lightweight this toner is. I love spraying it directly on my face and just rubbing it in with my hands. My skin feels evened out and hydrated after using this product. It's doesn't dry you out, like other toners I have tried. There is a bit of tightness once this particular toner dries on your skin, but it's not uncomfortable. I use this right after washing my face and before my argan oil and moisturizer.

Moroccan Argan Oil (1 oz.)$12.99 → "100% Certified Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan Oil)"

OK, let me start by saying I'm not a fan argan oil scent. That goes for any brand I have tried; however, the power of hydration is insane! Whenever my skin feels super dry, I apply ½ a pump of argan oil directly onto whatever part of my body needs moisturization and, voilà, problem solved. It hydrates my skin and leaves it feeling nourished. This particular type of oil can feel a bit greasy if you apply too much, so just reduce the amount you use. Other than that, Moroccan Argan Oil is a fabulous product to add into your beauty routine.

Night Cream* (1.75 oz.) $17.99 → "Nature's nocturnal miracle! Age-fighting Argan Stem Cells, shown to help the skin's natural repair process, firm and moisturize while 2% Chlorella Growth Factor fortifies collagen and elastin fibers. Hydrating Moroccan Argan Oil seals the deal, truly making this nature's own skin rejuvenation system."

This night cream smells like a dream! It's not as thick as other night creams I have used; however, it does feel thicker than daytime moisturizers. Also, other night creams can leave your face feeling slightly sticky, but this night cream doesn't do that. It nourishes and makes skin feel super hydrated but not oily. Perfect to restore and fortify your skin after a long day. As of right now, I only have a small sample size but seriously considering purchasing the full size. It's that good!

Unscented Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes (30 count) $6.99 → "Be gorgeous on-the-go! Gently remove makeup, dirt, sweat, environmental toxins, and that mustard from the corner of your mouth. No splashy rinsing necessary."

These cleansing towelettes remove everything without having to tug at your skin or get more products out, except for my waterproof mascara. I still use olive oil on a cotton round to remove my waterproof mascara, but these towelettes definitely help removing everything else. They are really helpful on lazy nights when you barely have any energy left or on sick days when all you wanna do is pass out on your bed...

Lip Lush* in Birthday Suit (0.5 oz.) $7.99 → "Luscious, lip smacking gloss with sheer color and attitude. Agatha von Birthday Suit doesn't need a bunch of shmancy colors to show her true beauty. Argan oil, Echinacea + Edelweiss Stem Cells help plump and protect."

I like what this lip product does for my lips - leaves them feeling soft and hydrated, however, I do not like the scent of this product! (kind of smells like bananas to me - not a fan) ...and the texture feels a too oily & slippery. It also has a weird taste to it that I am not fond of...so, instead of applying it directly from the tube, I control the amount by applying it on my index finger first and then onto my lips. It works perfectly fine, just the scent of this particular shade...Not sure if other colors have a different smell...

I hope you found these mini reviews helpful and that you will consider purchasing one of these boxes. Make sure to check out the Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit. Just click on the link HERE for more information.

I send you all tons of love & light!

Until next time...

*NOTE: Products may vary depending on availability.

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit {Press Sample} [Part I]

DISCLAIMER: I received this kit, courtesy of Acure Organics & Glamorganic Goddess,
for use & review in conjunction with this blog post. All opinions are my own.

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit

Hello, my pretties! ♥

If you have been reading i♥offbeat for a while, you know I have a soft spot for cancer patients, especially Breast Cancer ones. To make a long story short, my mom is a Cervical Cancer survivor and I used to work at a Breast Center a few years back. (You can read more about this here). When I was contacted to be a part of this campaign, I didn't hesitate for one second! I really want to share you with you all my thoughts on the Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit. Not only will you get some wonderful products, you will also be supporting a great cause!

The Glamorganic Goddess is a beauty & lifestyle website written by Danielle Messina, a Breast Cancer survivor. Unfortunately, after being in remission for 6 years, she has recently been diagnosed with a secondary cancer (in a new area of her breast). Because she already had 2 surgeries and radiation the first time, her options this time are now are quite limited - she has to have a Single or Double Mastectomy + Reconstruction.

Because she has opted for a more natural approach to healing and prevention after surgery, her insurance won't cover the costs of her extremely expensive treatments. On top of that, she still hasn't been able to get herself back on her feet financially from the first time she was diagnosed. This is where you and I can help out...

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit

Danielle has teamed up with Acure Organics, a family owned and operated company that provides quality fair trade, natural, and organic personal care products, to create the Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit - a box full of Acure Organics products that are absolutely amazing for your skin! Another great thing about this box is that 100% of the proceeds (yup! you read that right -- 100%!) goes to the Glamorganic Goddess GoFundMe Campaign to help Danielle with her treatment and, at the same time, promote education about the importance of cancer prevention through a truly healthy lifestyle.

Glamorganic Goddess Beauty Kit

$19.99

This box includes:
Facial Cleansing Gel (sample)
Facial Scrub (sample)
Facial Toner (full size)
Argan Oil (full size)
Day Cream (sample)*
Lip Balm (full size)*
Argan Oil Facial Towelettes (full size)

*NOTE: Products may vary depending on availability.
I received a Night Cream & Lip Lush in Birthday Suit as substitutes for these 2 products.

I've noticed a GREAT improvement of my skin using these products - my skin looks and feels plump and nourished. The sample packets are large enough to be used up to 5 times, which gives you a much better idea of whether you'll like the product or not. It didn't take me long to decide that I really enjoyed these products a lot!

Also, considering the value of the box ($79) vs. the actual cost ($20) I'd say it's a really great purchase! Not only because of the monetary value but also because of the moral one. You're supporting a great cause while buying cosmetic products that are actually great for your skin!

Full Face using GLOSSYBOX & ipsy [May 2015 Products] {MOTD}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Since May 2015 was the first ever month that I received any subscription boxes, I thought it would be fun to play around with those products to create a makeup look. I tried to keep things very simple & clean, but still classy. Since Summer is right around the corner, I thought this would give you some great ideas on how to incorporate a bit of color into the look without going full-on rainbow-style! Of course, I added several products that are already part of my collection & currently on my constant rotation. If you are curious what I did to achieve the look on the image, just keep on reading.

Enjoy!

Hello, my pretties! ♥

I am gearing up to receive my 2nd ipsy Glam Bag and, since a couple weeks ago I shared with you my thoughts about GLOSSYBOX (you can check my review of that box here), it would only be fair I share with you my thoughts on this beauty subscription service as well. If you have been or are curious about ipsy, feel free to keep reading and find out whether this service is worth getting.

Enjoy!

Daytime Drama Makeup Look feat. Kat Von D's Shade + Light Palettes {MOTD}

Daytime Drama Makeup Look feat. Kat Von D's Shade + Light Contour Palette & Eye Contour Palette {MOTD}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

It has been a long while since the last time I did an #MOTD around here...I decided to share this one with you because I've been playing around a lot with my Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette & Eye Contour Palette (click the links for full review & swatches of these palettes).

I tend to go for very neutral and matte makeup on a pretty regular basis because that's my comfort zone, but I'm always looking for ways to make it look fun and slightly different than before. I decided to get a little crazy with both palettes to achieve a more glam/sophisticated makeup look that is still wearable for daytime. These KVD contour palettes are super versatile! So, I hope you enjoy the product breakdown and give this makeup look a try. Have fun! ☺

My 1st GLOSSYBOX! {Review & First Impression}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

In the past few years, subscription boxes have become all the rage. Beauty subscription boxes were not left behind in this sales strategy and several are out in the market. And I...have been avoiding them like the plague (keepin' it real here). My biggest fear was that I would be dissatisfied with my box or that it wouldn't be worth whatever monthly amount I was paying; however, I am a convert. My mind has been changed all thanks to my very 1st GLOSSYBOX!

Well, after much research...and, by that, I mean so much research I was driving the Mr. crazy by asking him his opinion about makeup on pretty much a daily basis (keep in mind I was asking him about a subject he could care less about). Finally, I decided on 2 beauty subscription boxes: GLOSSYBOX and ipsy*. They were the two with the highest reviews and the least consumer disappointments.

GLOSSYBOX is $21 per month. Shipping & handling are free. And, you receive 5 luxury products that can be either makeup, nailcare, skincare, haircare or fragrance depending on your beauty profile (further information about this below). Also as you review products you receive glossydots, which are, basically collectable points. For every 1000 glossydots you collect, you get a free box. Sweet, huh?

If you're interested in the entire review & several images
of the opening of my 1st GLOSSYBOX, just keep reading!

Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette Review

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Lately, all sorts of brands have taken advantage of the contour & highlight craze by releasing new products; however, none of them have quite caught my eye like this palette. It was love at first sight. Finally, about a month ago, I went to Sephora and spent the gift card that was burning a hole in my pocket since Christmas. I took it home and have been playing with it since. I can't put it down. For those of you who have your eyes planted on this beauty or just for those of you who are curious, here's my review of the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette.

KVD Makeup claims, "An exclusive contour palette featuring 3 shades for contouring and 3 shades for highlighting, designed to shape and define facial features to create a look of authentic dimensionality."

Kat Von D is one of the most well-known tattoo artists of our generation. She is also a musician, model, fashion designer, philantropist, and makeup artist. Her beauty line of cosmetics is inspired by the tattooing inks she works with in her studio. Thanks to her vision in full color, KVD created a makeup collection that focuses on great quality, high-pigmentation, and long-lasting performance.

The inspiration behind the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette, in particular, came from Kat continuously trying to understand the usage of shade & light to bring features forward on the portraits she draws and the tattoos she places on her clients. This is a true makeup artist contour & highlight palette.
