Inspiration :: Dreams Come True!

Before I start, I need to warn you: This particular post might end up being all over the place. That is usually what happens when I write stuff like this. Not only that, but the way things are coming back into memory need to be recorded by the date they happened so that it all makes sense in the end for you... Thank you ☺

A few months back, I talked a bit about my internal struggles with depression and some things that I simply could not get over (if you want to watch that video before continuing this read, click HERE). I didn't get into too much detail because it's a very personal matter. Some time in the future I'll talk about it more openly. I am just not ready yet. I am still working on myself every day...

This blog post is not just  about those struggles. It's actually about how I have (slowly) overcome my demons and how a single person (completely unbeknownst to him) has single-handedly helped me get out of the mud to (again, slowly) finally come to terms with my past and look forward to a future with dreams. It sounds very  weird, I know, but I promise you'll have an "a-ha!" moment in the end ☺ Here comes the timeline...

2001 -  On my birthday, I was roaming around the aisles of Barnes & Noble with my then roomate, Brian. I encountered Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces and my little world turned upside down. I had never  seen anyone create such transformations! That's the day I fell deeply in love with makeup.

MOTD :: #LALLBLOG14 [Part 3]

Hi everyone!

While I wrote the longest post in the history of blog posts about #LALLBLOG14, I wanted to keep this one post pretty short & sweet. I am listing all of the products I used on my face to create the makeup look I have here. Enjoy! ♥

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Face Cream
Jurlique Purely Age-Defying Eye Cream
Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer
Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray Eye Primer in Light/Medium
Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in 160 Fresh Beige

Sacha Cosmetics Single Eyeshadow in Skin all over the lid & up to the browbone.
Smashbox Full Exposure Palette - Apply a wash of M4 all over the lid. Mix M2 & M5 together and apply to the crease with a blending brush as a transition color. Then, apply M1 & M6 with a smaller blending brush to deepen the outer crease area. With a flat shader brush, apply S3 onto the lid, then reapply foiled.
Wet n Wild Beauty ColorIcon Eyeshadow Collection in Walking The Red Carpet [Limited Edition]. Apply the glittery gold named Eyelid onto the lid, then reapply foiled for additional sparkle. Apply the matte warm medium brown named Crease under the lower lashline. (I do not have a link to provide. Check your local drugstore or wherever they sell Wet n Wild for availability. If you want to buy it online, search eBay.)
Rich On Cosmetics Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Starry Night on the upper lashline only. (I wasn't able to find a link where to buy it, check out your local 99¢ store).
Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude on the lower waterline.

L'Oreal Voluminous Power Volume 24 Hour Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black on top lashes only.
Red Cherry False Eye Lashes in DW (Demi Wispies) or Wispies  are perfect for this look!

Jordana Cosmetics Fabubrow Eyebrow Pencil in Taupe then blended it into my brow hairs and removed any excess with a spoolie.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Touch of Glow in Nude Glow to conceal under my eyes & around my nose, and highlight anywhere I will apply MAC's Carefree (see below).
Ben Nye Bella Luxury Powder in Banana all over the face, especially on the t-zone and above the eyebrows.

#LALLBLOG14 Lifestyle Bloggers National Conference {Long Post} [Part 2]

Hi everyone!

A little over a week ago, I was fortunate enough to attend #LALLBLOG14. Originally, I intended to attend both days; however, as some of you know, I have been incredibly sick with walking pneumonia that has made me practically useless for the past 3 weeks (don't worry, it's not contagious unless I lick you LOL). So, I was unable to attend Day 1 due to some serious complications because of the infection. Luckily, I was able to shake it off for the day thanks to some pretty strong meds and (yay!) I made it to Day 2 of #LALLBLOG14.

The event was held at THE REEF, formerly known as LA Mart, in Downtown Los Angeles. If you are ever on the lookout for this particular building, just look for the massive  chair they have up for display in the front. This classic-looking kitchen-style wooden straight-back chair outside of THE REEF was installed in October 2003 and it is America's largest chair! THE REEF got it from a consortium of Italian furniture makers by pure luck (it was originally supposed to be installed in Chicago). You get to drive under the chair as you enter the parking lot. It's really cool! ☺

This give you an idea of how large it is!
