#ExtremeBeautyTour with Jeffree Star & Lipstick Nick

Hi everyone! ☺

I know a lot of people have been anxiously expecting a review/recap of the #ExtremeBeautyTour, so I decided to do that for you guys since I was fortunate enough to be able to attend to the 1st one ever!

I've been a fan of Jeffree Star since the days when MySpace was popular (Am I really that old? Geez...). I was working at the mall and would see his clothing line at Hot Topic printed with his name and the ever classic eyelash curler. And, of course, of Nick's since her original Instagram account where she would showcase her amazing body painting skills of football team jerseys painted onto the bodies of beautiful ladies. So, when Jeffree Star (@jeffreestar) & Nicole Faulkner (@lipsticknick_) announced they were doing a demonstration class at Morphé Brushes, I seriously just about died of happiness.

Review :: Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Collection in "Walking The Red Carpet" [Limited Edition]

Hi everyone!

A few weeks back, while I was roaming around the aisles of my local pharmacy waiting to have my walking pneumonia antibiotic prescription filled, I encountered this beautiful palette and just had to buy it! You guys know I am always on the hunt for a great neutral palette that's easy to travel with. I need something compact, with wide color selection, texture variety, and hue diversity. Well, I found this & had to share it with you because I thought it was a wonderful buy. Ladies & gents, I present to you the Wet n  Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow Collection in Walking The Red Carpet  [Limited Edition].

There is also a 2nd palette called Flirting At The Afterparty,  which is actually a purple/pink palette somewhat similar to Petal Pusher.  If you want to get a good look at this palette, I highly recommend you check out Musings of a Muse's blog post by clicking HERE.

This past Saturday we had a visit from Andres' cousin/my friend, Gracie, and one of her daughters, Clarissa. They came into town to do some shopping & hang out. We rarely venture out into the unknown without a plan but, this time, we decided to do so. Fortunately, we ended up with a super fun Easter weekend full of adventure! ☺

We started the day by going to Bru's Wiffle - A Waffle Joint in Santa Monica. We are big  fans of chicken & waffles, but this place is by far the BEST we have ever been to. The chicken is crispy, the waffles are soft, and all the topings & sauces are incredibly delicious! I ordered the Chicken On Fire - Two pieces of boneless skinless crispy fried chicken with a soft Belgian waffle topped with grilled onions, grilled jalapeños, Oaxacan Cheese & Blazing Sauce. It was un-freakin'-believable!

FOTD :: Easter 2014

Hi everyone!

Hope every single one of you had a very lovely Easter in the company of your loved ones! ♥

We had a pretty fun weekend with family. On Saturday, we hung out with Andres' cousin/my close friend Gracie & her daughter. I'll post about that later to share with you all the fun stuff we did... For now, let me share with you the makeup I wore on Easter Sunday: I kept things pretty neutral with a small pop of color on the lower lashline by adding a bright purple. It made the look very wearable for everyday but also super fun!

If you want to see what products I used for this makeup look, just keep reading! ☺

Inspiration :: Dreams Come True!

Before I start, I need to warn you: This particular post might end up being all over the place. That is usually what happens when I write stuff like this. Not only that, but the way things are coming back into memory need to be recorded by the date they happened so that it all makes sense in the end for you... Thank you ☺

A few months back, I talked a bit about my internal struggles with depression and some things that I simply could not get over (if you want to watch that video before continuing this read, click HERE). I didn't get into too much detail because it's a very personal matter. Some time in the future I'll talk about it more openly. I am just not ready yet. I am still working on myself every day...

This blog post is not just  about those struggles. It's actually about how I have (slowly) overcome my demons and how a single person (completely unbeknownst to him) has single-handedly helped me get out of the mud to (again, slowly) finally come to terms with my past and look forward to a future with dreams. It sounds very  weird, I know, but I promise you'll have an "a-ha!" moment in the end ☺ Here comes the timeline...

2001 -  On my birthday, I was roaming around the aisles of Barnes & Noble with my then roomate, Brian. I encountered Kevyn Aucoin's Making Faces and my little world turned upside down. I had never  seen anyone create such transformations! That's the day I fell deeply in love with makeup.

Review :: NARS The NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette

Hi everyone!

On rare occasion do I splurge on myself anymore. Usually, if I buy high-end makeup, it's because it's going to go into my makeup kit to be used on other  people (I'm a part-time makeup artist, just in case you didn't already know). Sure, I'll spend on drugstore makeup for myself trying to find what works; however, when I fall in love with luxury makeup, I try my best to avoid it. It's kind of a survival thing...for my pocket, that is... This time around, I couldn't help myself. I fell in love fast, deep & hard...and not for my boyfriend *gasp!* It was all for an eyeshadow palette: The NARS NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette, to be exact.

Review :: Smashbox Full Exposure Palette

Hi everyone!

The neutral color palettes craze is still here! Everyone from high end to drugstore is taking advantage of this & coming out with lots of new neutral palettes. Some of them are shimmery, some of them are matte, some of them are a combination of both. Well, today, I come to you with a review of Smashbox's Full Exposure Palette.

As some of you know, I am a makeup artist and although I am not swimming in neutral palettes myself, I do try to find palettes that are convenient for me to use on clients. Not only do I look for pretty colors, I also look for versatility and the Full Exposure Palette was perfect for my kit! Just like the LORAC Pro Palette, it contains a well-rounded mixture of shimmers and mattes and comes in a pretty sleek palette.

But enough blabber...Let's get into the nitty gritty of this review! ☺

#LALLBLOG14 Lifestyle Bloggers National Conference {Long Post} [Part 2]

Hi everyone!

A little over a week ago, I was fortunate enough to attend #LALLBLOG14. Originally, I intended to attend both days; however, as some of you know, I have been incredibly sick with walking pneumonia that has made me practically useless for the past 3 weeks (don't worry, it's not contagious unless I lick you LOL). So, I was unable to attend Day 1 due to some serious complications because of the infection. Luckily, I was able to shake it off for the day thanks to some pretty strong meds and (yay!) I made it to Day 2 of #LALLBLOG14.

The event was held at THE REEF, formerly known as LA Mart, in Downtown Los Angeles. If you are ever on the lookout for this particular building, just look for the massive  chair they have up for display in the front. This classic-looking kitchen-style wooden straight-back chair outside of THE REEF was installed in October 2003 and it is America's largest chair! THE REEF got it from a consortium of Italian furniture makers by pure luck (it was originally supposed to be installed in Chicago). You get to drive under the chair as you enter the parking lot. It's really cool! ☺

This give you an idea of how large it is!
