FOTD :: Smokey Eyes Using LORAC Pro To Go Palette

Hi everyone!

I've had the LORAC PRO To Go Palette for sometime now & I cannot tell you how much I love it! (You can check out the review I did of it by clicking HERE). Since it's a full face palette & it's so versatile, I am able to do many different makeup looks with that single palette. Lately, I have been obsessed with simple smokey eyes. There's just something so sexy & sultry in the simplicity of a smokey eye that I decided to share how I do it.

So, here's my take on how to do a simple, sultry & sexy smokey eye using the LORAC PRO To Go Palette. Hope you enjoy! ☺

•  LORAC PRO To Go Palette:
First, apply Café on the crease with a fluffy blending brush to make that your transition color and to help the other 2 colors blend easily with each other.
Next, apply Black on the lid with a flat shader brush in small patting motions to get the most pigmentation on your lids.
Finally, apply Shell on the browbone for a highlight that lifts the area.

If you need to reapply any of the colors for more pigmentation or better blending, go ahead and do so! ☺

LORAC PRO To Go Palette:
First, contour with Bronze. Apply to the hairline, temples, cheekbones, nose, & jawline.
Next, apply Coral very lightly to the apples of your cheeks and blend back towards your hairline.
Last, highlight with Pearl. Apply to the high points of your face such as the bridge of the nose, top of the cheekbones, cupid's bow & chin.

NYX Cosmetics Slim Eye Pencil in Taupe all over the lips, then apply
Whitening Lightening Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss in Nude to give a nice, glossy finish.

If your eyes are a bit close together like mine & you want a look that will be a bit more flattering, I suggest you click HERE for a smokey eye look I did a while back.

I hope you find this FOTD helpful and that you all are doing well. Until next time...

FOTD :: Makeup in Hawai'i

As I was packing for our vacation in Hawaii, I was really torn on how much makeup I should bring. I knew we were going to be running around & getting in the water, so I really didn't want to fuss too much with heavy products that would look cakey or overdone.

I wasn't planning on wearing anything but sunscreen the entire time, to be quite honest; however, I knew we would have a couple of occasions in which I did want to look a bit more polished and presentable. Being a makeup artist, it was a real struggle to think outside of my makeup-loving box! Ultimately, I packed really light and still managed to look like a decent human being on the small occasions that merited me looking a little more done up.

If you are getting ready to go on vacation to the lovely Hawaiian islands or anywhere where it's sunny, humid and won't require you to wear a lot of makeup, then this is the blog post for you! ☺

Here's the list of all the products I used in every single occasion during our visit to the lovely island of Maui, Hawai'i. Hope this helps!

Simple & Natural Makeup Look

Johnson's Baby Lotion in Honey Apple (I forgot my face lotion, so I had to use the boys'...)

• Revlon Lash Curler to give my straight-down lashes a nice curl

• L'Oreal Paris USA Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof Mascara on top lashes only

• NYX Cosmetics Slim Eye Pencil in Taupe, then went over them with

 MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Coquette to set the pencil

• Sacha Cosmetics Blush in Rose Glow on cheeks, tip of the nose, chin & a bit on the hairline to give my face a bit of a sun-kissed look

• NYX Cosmetics Makeup Setting Spray in Matte Finish sprayed all over the face to prevent me from looking shiny

• MAC Cosmetics Plushglass in Ample Pink for that "your lips but better" look

Check out the difference in color from Day 1 to Day 2. It was insane how quickly I tanned! I ♥ Hawai'i!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to come here to share with you some of the highlights of our vacation. If I had been able to take every single one of you with us, trust me, I would have. If you ever get the chance to go to Hawaii, don't even hesitate. It's the experience of a lifetime! ♥

Review :: LORAC Pro To Go Palette {Press Sample}

Disclosure: I have received a free sample of this product from LORAC Cosmetics
for review/use in conjunction with this blog post. All opinions are my own.

A few months ago, I was invited to BeautyCon 2013 Industry Night in Los Angeles (if you want to learn a bit more about it, click HERE!). There were tons of companies there that provided us with some great goodies to check out and review; one of them was LORAC Cosmetics, which is one of the biggest and most respected companies in the industry. I was given the LORAC PRO To Go Palette during the BeautyCon Industry Night event.

I intended to review this product sooner; however, I don't know what happened to the original pictures I took. I ended up having to bite the bullet and take new pictures of my already used palette, so please forgive the state in which my poor little palette is in. This has been a well-used and well-loved palette, hence the powdery look it has in every single image. I hope you don't mind...

But, enough about me crying over old pictures. Let's get into the review! ☺
