Blog Name Change

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Just very briefly I wanted to tell you all that I made the decision to change the name of my blog. It was just too confusing to have different accounts for everything. The full change for all social accounts will take a bit longer to happen due to some complications with each of the social media company's policies. Also, I will mention a lot of the links in the blog will not work properly because I have to go through every single post & change them manually. Apparently, I'm a glutton for punishment... :(

Please bare with me as things continue to be a bit wonky around here. I'm slooowly  working on everything in small periods of time & as often as I can. With the move & the holidays coming up, things are moving at snail pace, but at least they are moving along ☺

Thank you all for your understanding & support! I will be back full force before you know it. For now, I hope everyone is doing well. Sending you all tons of love & light as always...

Breakfast Green Smoothie

2 handfuls Baby Spinach
1 handful Cilantro
½ Banana
½ Apple (any kind)
5 large Strawberries (with stem)
1 tsp. Honey
1 cup 100% Orange Juice
2 cup Milk (any kind)

Add the baby spinach, cilantro into the blender. Then, add all your fruits. Lastly, add your liquids. Blend. Add ice, if you desire. Enjoy!

Hi everyone!

The reason why I wanted to share this smoothie with you guys is because I've set a short term goal for myself to help with my weightloss. I'll be doing Color Vibe 5K Run in exactly 2 months with my boyfriend & some of our friends. I'm very excited but also rather apprehensive about it since I'm not exactly in the best shape. Since the move, I haven't been very consistent with my healthy eating or my exercising. So, this is the perfect excuse to restart my workouts and eating better again...

Please, don't think this is a "weightloss" smoothie. It is not!  The reason why I drink it in the morning is because it has tons of vitamins, minerals, and all sorts of good stuff that help my fruit and veggie intake + gives me lots of energy that doesn't make me crash like other stuff I've taken before; however, it is packed with milk (we use 'whole' around here), fruit sugar & honey (non weight-losing ingredients per se). Also, I suffer from anemia (deficiency of red blood cells). The large amount of baby spinach helps my anemia and alleviates my "monthly issues" because of its rich iron content. I'm not a huge red meat eater, so this is the next best thing for me. Also, cilantro and apples are great detoxifiers and possess powerful antioxidants & anticarcinogens. I make sure to make enough smoothie every morning for myself and my 2 little ones.

I hope you found this blog post helpful. I know this is a little out of the norm for me, but decided to post it since beauty truly begins from the inside. Like Drake said, "Beauty isn't about having a pretty face. It's about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart, and a pretty soul*" ...and a pretty healthy body that will last you a long time too...

Until next time...
P.S.: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention...I have a 2nd Instagram account dedicated exclusively to my attempting to lose weight. It's still in it's baby stages & I'm not a personal trainer, physician or even a health nut. I'm just trying to track down my progress. If you're interested, my username for that account is @lizzyloseslbs

* Yes, I quoted Drake.

Bridal Beauty & Style with ♥

Hello, my pretties! ♥

Bridal style involves uniqueness & individualism. It can be classic & romantic or quirky & off-the-wall. There's no right or wrong way of doing it. All you have to do is trust your gut-feeling, go with what suits your personality and how you want to remember one of the most important days of your life. is a great website where you can spend endless hours getting wedding inspiration not only for gorgeous gowns, but for anything wedding-related. At the end of your wedding day, the most special thing is always that you have officially married the love of your life! ♥ Of course, a pretty dress that makes you look fabulous always helps make the day extra special.

I still dream of my wedding day. AndrΓ©s & I are very non-traditional and did things backwards (...that's a whooole other blog post LOL). But that doesn't stop this girl from dreaming of that special day when my 2 boys will walk me down the aisle to marry their father. We talk about it a lot and I know it will happen soon. I want to make sure I look extra fashionable that day!

In this blog post, I want to showcase 3 different makeup looks inspired by 3 beautiful dresses I found in the website. I had so much fun spending endless hours looking at gorgeous wedding gowns and deciding what looks I would wear with each one of them. The dresses I have chosen lean more on the non-traditional and range just below the $500 mark. A wedding gown can be inexpensive, fun, unconventional and modern without losing elegance & sophistication.

If you're interested in finding out what kind of makeup I chose for each wedding dress from, just keep reading... ☺

"With intricate lace and a polished, half-sleeve silhouette, this flared dress was handcrafted in NYC by Leanne Marshall. Perfect for a memorable night (or day) of dancing, the knee-skimming skirt puts your shoes in the spotlight."

I love this dress for a daytime wedding or for a bride who doesn't want to be fussing around with a long gown. I love how playful yet vintage it looks. It makes me think how this dress could be a beautiful heirloom to pass from one generation to the next.

On Claudia, I wanted a very fresh makeup that would make her look young and flirty. I wanted there to be a strong contrast between her youthful pretty face and the very traditional lace. To make her stand out, I kept the entire makeup very monochromatic by adding soft peachy-pinks all throughout her face. What this does is creates a flush of all-over color that makes her blonde hair and big, expressive blue eyes really stand out.

I achieved her eye look by using a mixture of Too Faced Chocolate Bar Salted Caramel & LORAC Pro Mauve on the crease and Too Faced Chocolate Bar Champagne & Marzipan + LORAC Pro Nude, Champagne & Pewter on the lids. For the cheeks, I used a mixture of Sacha Cosmetics blushes in Barely Plum, Color Me Coral & Rose Glow. On the lips, I used a mixture of J.Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in Mimsy + Sacha Cosmetics Summer Peach & Bubble Gum lipgloss with a bit of Rosebud Salve for extra shine.

by White by Vera Wang

"This elegant strapless draped lace column gown defines ethereal beauty. Beautiful Chantilly lace is draped at opposing angles for an amazingly flattering design, and underneath it all is a sensual double layer of charmeuse lining. A simply chic look easily changed to modern, romantic, or glamorous by adding a White by Vera Wang horsehair, floral, or crystal sash."

Now, I know a black wedding gown is very non-traditional and not for everyone, but the beautiful lace and flower waist detail make it look romantic and timeless. If the black color doesn't suit your style, this is definitely a versatile dress that would also look stunning in white (similar choices HERE and HERE).

On Christian, I kept things very smokey and strong on the eye area but avoided using black to not make it harsh. Instead, I stuck with a wash of purple eyeshadow and very strong definition on the outer corner to lift her eyes and avoid droopiness. I kept her skin neutral and her lips really natural. I didn't add any blush because I wanted to keep the statement primarily on her bone structure and the dress. She has beautiful high cheekbones and I really wanted to emphasize that. Instead of blush, I gave her skin a beautiful healthy and radiant glow that even J.Lo would approve of!

I achieved her look by using a mixture of LORAC Pro Deep Purple & Too Faced Candied Violet eyeshadows on the eyelids, Temptu Pro Champagne Shimmer on the cheeks and forehead (concentrating primarily on the cheekbones & above the brow arches), well-defined contouring of the face with airbrush foundation about 4 times darker than her skintone, and neutral but glowy lips by using a clear gloss with LORAC Pro Gold eyeshadow.

by The Dessy Group

"Sleeveless modern lace dress with wide matching satin sash. Flared skirt has sweep train."

This gown is definitely more structured and architectural than the previous two. The laser-cut lace gives it a very modern and up-to-date look yet the stylish cut keeps the dress very classic.

For Desiree, I wanted a much more sophisticated and defined look to go with her gown. The main emphasis was on her eyes. She has gorgeously huge almond-shaped eyes that needed to be showcased. I opted for a very defined cut-crease with an accentuated cat-eyeliner and tons of lashes. I kept things super simple on the lower part of the eyes by only adding a cream color pencil on her waterline & a couple coats of mascara on her lower lashes. Since there was so much going on with the eyes, I kept the contouring to a minimum. I only added a bit of highlight to the face to give it a bit of dimension. Her lips were darkened with a shiny mulberry color that didn't clash with the eyes and only enough blush to make her cheeks visible.

To achieve this look, I used LORAC Pro Black to cut her crease and used Sable & Espresso to blend it up. Added just a touch of Taupe to create a difussed gradient. For the lids, I used a combination of LORAC Pro Gold & Urban Decay Naked2 Half Baked to give them a very strong gold-tone that would highly contrast with her crease. On her cheeks, I used a combination of Orange Flame & Burnt Orange blushes from Sacha Cosmetics. Her lips were filled in with Italia Mahogany lip pencil, then Maybelline Divine Wine lipstick was added for some creaminess and finally, topped with Sacha Cosmetics Summer Cognac lipgloss.

I hope this blog post gave you some great ideas for your wedding day and that you enjoyed reading it as much as we thoroughly enjoyed working on it.

Until next time...

30-Minute Makeup {FOTD}

Hello, my pretties!

I can't tell you how many times I've heard women say "Oh, I just don't have time to put makeup on..." Well, you know what I say to that? BULLSH*T! Yup, I said it. Anyone can go from drab to fab in exactly 30 minutes!

If you have read my About section here on the blog, you know I am mom to 2 delicious toddler boys. They are constantly tugging at me or pulling my fingers to take me somewhere for some reason. Their needs, of course, always come first and are taken care of before any makeup application. Once they're settled, my cellphone timer gets set for exactly 30 mins to do makeup, a simple hairdo, and throw on whatever clothes I am going to wear.

Don't get me wrong. Sometimes, I don't even have 30 minutes and I'll look like this instead. And when I do have those 30 minutes, there are constant interruptions and I have to stop whatever I am doing; however, there's a goal to achieve and I try my best to do it. It doesn't always happen perfectly but, over time, I have gotten a lot faster at taking care of my makeup business in 30 minutes.

Bare face before & polished face 30 mins after

My whole point is: Take time for YOU to try to look presentable and polished. You will feel 100% better about yourself and your husband/boyfriend/partner will appreciate the effort you have put into putting yourself together and will feel proud to show you off and stand by your side. Now, your partner should feel proud of you regardless of whether you're wearing makeup or not. If he (or she) doesn't, it's time to throw his (or her) a$$ out to the curb! #JustSayin' You should be loved for you, not your makeup application skills anyway...

Learn what looks best on you and what you like to emphasize the most out of your face. Practice makes perfect and over time you will get faster at applying makeup on. One quick tip: Make sure you have all  your makeup, tools & clothing ready, so you don't have to waste precious time looking for stuff #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat!

Perfect Palette Tag!

Hello, my pretties! ♥

This is a tag that has been going around in the makeup world. I have been thinking of doing it for a while, but it wasn't until now that I had a chance to really sit down and do it. October tends to be a pretty busy month for us and this year is no exception. Even with that, I still found time to fully compare these palettes up against each other and give you guys an idea of what I think about them. I have already done reviews on some of them, but my opinions may have changed over time as I have used them more. I took into consideration every possible aspect - pigmentation, color selection, formula, versatility, and range of mattes vs. shimmers. Which is the perfect palette? Let's find out! ☺

Burgundy Smokey Eye Makeup Look for Fall {FOTD}

Hello, my pretties! ♥

It seems like forever since the last time I posted a FOTD. The reality is that I haven't really gotten too much time to wear a full face of makeup in the past couple months. We have been so busy! This, of course, explains the excess reviews in the past few weeks too... But it's time to spice things up a bit again! A lot of you wanted a product breakdown of this look when I posted it on my Instagram. It's the perfect balance of color and smokeyness (is that a word?) for the fall season. So here you have it: A Burgundy Smokey Eye Makeup Look. Enjoy! ☺

• NYX Cosmetics Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Face Primer. Applied onto the areas where I get oily the most + wherever I have any acne scarring.
• Benefit Cosmetics Some Kind-a Gorgeous Cream to Powder Foundation. Applied with my Beauty Blender all over the areas where I applied my face primer. I did 2 coats because this is a very light foundation, but it's totally buildable for light-medium/medium coverage that still looks like your skin.

Top 10 Gym Things

***Disclaimer:  These blog posts are merely to showcase what helps me stay on track with my personal  fitness journey.
I am not a nutritionist, a personal trainer, a fitness specialist or a physician. For any advice, consult with an expert.
Thank you.

Well, I have seen people at the gym (mainly bodybuilders and the like) carrying around duffel bags (yes, plural). And they are not the small portable kind either. They are huge!  The must carry their entire closet & a litter of puppies in there...I can kind of understand to take a few things that go above & beyond than just the basics to help your workout be a little more effective; however, there is no need to carry a full-blown suitcase to the gym. We go to the gym to make our minds and bodies feel and look good, both inside and out. So, I decided to share with you the Top 10 Things I Bring With Me To The Gym that help ease me into my fitness sessions and make them a little more fun and comfortable. Enjoy!

1. Gym Membership Card -  This goes without saying, but I thought I'd note it. I'm notorious for forgetting stuff, so I thought I'd add it here for all of you fellow scatter-brained beauties. Unless, of course, you go to one of those fancy gyms that require your fingerprint instead. In that case, you won't need the membership card & I'm pretty sure you won't forget your fingers on regular basis. Just sayin'...

2. Water - Drinking water & remaining hydrated is essential  while working out. Did you know that only losing 2% of your body weight in fluid can decrease your performance by up to 25%?! Yup, ladies. Staying hydrated is super  important. There's plenty of debate on whether water should be cold or room-temperature. The tests have been marginal by comparison, so I won't even go there...Water helps lubricate your body when you work out because it's the main component in many of the chemical reactions that happen inside, plus your heart won't have to work as hard to pump blood and its easier to transport oxygen an nutrients to your muscles during exercise. So, if you get thirsty, drink up me hearties!

3. Towel(s) - I normally just bring a small towel with me to wipe my sweat and/or put on the machines or the floor whenever I work out. It's also common courtesy to wipe the machines after using them, so I'll use the other side of my towel to wipe them down (the side that isn't touching your face, of course). It doesn't have to be fancy, it doesn't have to a certain just has to do the job. You're gonna sweat anyway. That's what you're there for! ☺

4. Sport Bra - Make sure it's a good sport bra. I can't emphasize the word good  enough! You need full back and boob support. I don't care what size your tatas are, they must be reinforced so gravity doesn't mess up their shape. I recently did a full review on the Victoria's Secret "Incredible" Sport Bra, which is my sport bra of choice. I recently bought a 2nd one & planning on buying a 3rd one. They are that  good & they provide all the support I need. I promise you will fall in love with them, if you buy one.

5. Tennis Shoes - A comfortable sneaker is crucial for working out. I currently own a pair of Asics that are on their last leg (perfect excuse to go shopping!). You will need shoes that provide full support, are flexible, are very light, and provide wonderful shock absorption. The brand doesn't matter as much as how your foot feels inside while you exercise. If they are cute & in your favorite color, well...that's always a plus!

6. Music & Earphones - If you have a gym buddy, you may skip on music since you'll be talking to someone. On the days I work with my trainer, I don't put them on until I am doing my cardio afterwards. But on the regular, I go to the gym alone and don't socialize, so music is a must  for me. It's a good kind of distraction because it helps me forget how tired I am getting. I also work harder and get maximum effect while listening to fun music. Also, a good beat helps me keep the pace, especially while on the treadmill. Plus, it elevates my mood and makes me want to move. So, thank you Iggy Azalea for helping me reach my cardio goals with "Black Widow".

7. Lip Balm - There's no real scientific basis behind this one. Simply put - my lips chap very easily and, if I'm dehydrated, they get worse quickly. So, I keep lip balm handy to assist with this discomfort. Lately, I have been using Softlips Cube 5-in-1 Lip Care and I'm pretty happy with it because it takes care of business without adding any shine to my lips.

8. Mints - I really dislike the taste of bottled water. All I taste is the plastic. So, I make it a point to have mints with me to help with that. Not only do the mints disguise the water flavor, but also help my water feel colder and quench my thirst a lot easier.

9. Lifting Gloves - Another thing I have to replace, now that I think about it. Anyway...I know a lot of people are not into wearing them but I am. They give better grip, prevent calluses and blisters (who wants those!), relieve pressure while lifting, and provide wrist support. If it helps me with my workout, why not?

10. Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer - Gyms are infested  with bacteria, fungus & all kinds of gross things I rather not mention (or know they exist). Because of that, it's important to carry hand sanitizer with you at all times! You don't want to catch something. Ew!

I carry all of these things (except my attire and water bottle) in a small makeup bag similar to this one. I found it at Target and it fits everything I need to bring with me, so I am hands-free and can concentrate on my workouts rather than all the crap I have to carry.

I hope you found this blog post helpful. Until next time...

Selfie Tag!

1. What is your best physical feature?
I have the most perfect ears! LOL just kidding...I have no idea. You guys answer this one for me ☺

2. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go & why?
I would love to visit Japan, Spain and Mexico in its entirety. I want to learn all about my roots and where my ancestors were from and grew up. I feel it's always good to know where you come from to know where you are going...

3. What do you need to do to feel better when you're sick?
Sleep and soup. I get very little sleep + I'm a natural insomniac. So when I get sick, I really  need to recharge and go back to basics.

4. What one piece of advice would you give to the youth of America & why?
Be yourself. Work hard. Be honest. Never give up. Be more worried about chasing your dreams than chasing love. Take care of yourself first and true love will fall on your lap without a doubt. ♥

5. What animal do you think you were in your past life?
I think I was a panda or a cat. Mainly, because of their behavioral tendencies. I'm kind of a loner too, in some sense.

6. If you could travel back in time, what would you change?
I would change the way I handled my life before. I was more worried about partying and having fun than actually building a future I could be proud of. Now, I am in my 30s trying to do what I should've in my 20s. I still had lots of fun, so I have no regrets. I just wish I had been smarter then.

7. What do you do for fun on the weekends?
I usually spend it with my family. We always try to have a small adventure or do something fun with our boys.

8. What's your biggest workplace pet peeve?
Favoritism. Work should be rewarded by the quality of your work, not who's liked best by the boss on a personal level.

9. I wouldn't be caught dead without _____?
My family! Oh & my cellphone.

10. If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
The ability to be in several places at once so I could do it all!

Fun & Romantic Weekend in Las Vegas! {Photo Heavy}

*** Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored blog post.

Hi everyone!

The Summer of 2014 has been an insane  one for us as a family. So, Andres & I decided to spend a fun & romantic weekend in Las Vegas!

We were very excited because last time we were in The Entertainment Capital of the World  was about 4 years ago with friends for New Years 2011. We were also quite apprehensive because this was the 1st time traveling without our boys. We always take them everywhere we go, but we needed some time alone to hang out by ourselves without the pressures of parenting...

We have some major  changes coming to us in the next few weeks, so this trip to The City of Lights  was our way to close and celebrate this chapter of our lives and welcome the new bright future ahead of us! ☺

Join us in this mini adventure in Sin City...Enjoy!

Daytime Smokey Eye {FOTD}

Hi beauties!

In the past, I have done the smokey eye look (you can see some here and here) but I kept craving something that was more daytime and less dramatic. For this particular look, I used the NARS The NARSissist Palette because of its versatility.

I also added this picture to show you the 2nd phase of my black dye stripping + beginning stage of my ombrΓ©. Even as the tips of my hair are this brassy orange, I like the effect it gives with all the curls and layers. I'll be doing a blog post on how to remove black hair dye and provide minimum damage to your hair in the near future. For now, I hope you enjoy this makeup look:

Ariana Grande "Problem" Music Video-Inspired Makeup Look {FOTD}

OK. I must confess: Just like the rest of America (or the world at this point), I have fallen prey to Ariana Grande's beautiful voice & catchy beat on the song "Problem". The other morning, as I was starting to get ready, I was watching the video. That day, I wanted a very simple makeup look because we were going to spend some time at Santa Monica Farmers Market and Dorothy Green Park. I didn't want to look like every other day (barely awake, that is) + I wanted to keep my hair off of my face without putting it up in a bun (like I always do). So, Ariana gave me the perfect  excuse to emulate her look!

Still from Ariana Grande's "Problem" music video

If you want to know what products I used to re-create Ariana Grande's makeup look in the "Problem" video, just keep reading... ☺

BeautyConLA 2014 - Los Angeles

I am so excited to announce that I will be at #BeautyConLA 2014!

If you are not very familiar with what BeautyCon is, then let me explain: BeautyCon is a yearly conference that happens in London, Tokyo and Los Angeles. New York City actually had it for the very first time this year. As time progresses, it keeps expanding to other cities in the world. So, don't be too disappointed if it hasn't happened near you yet.  This conference brings you closer to the most influential fashion & beauty YouTubers, bloggers, Instagramers, Tumblrers, Pinners, and Tweethearts you most admire.

This is the 2nd year I will be attending. I cannot wait to meet those of you who will be at #BeautyConLA 2014 too! ♥

BeautyCon 2014 - Los Angeles is happening on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Magic Box inside The Reef in Downtown LA. The event will begin at 10 am and will go on until 7 pm. The address to The Reef is 1933 South Broadway, Los Angeles CA 90007.

Make sure to register to attend by clicking HERE! There's a limited number of tickets, so make sure to do it as soon as possible. For more information about this event, check out the #BeautyConLA 2014 website.
